Thoughts on Time at Grand Valley:
"I always knew I wanted to be an educator, but my path was
unclear as to what subject I would focus on when I first started to
attend GVSU. I have always loved athletics and while competing on the
women’s basketball team, my interest grew in majoring in Physical
Education with a minor in School Health Education. After my sophomore
year, I decided to major in Physical Education and worked fast and
furiously to stay on track by completing necessary courses in
PE/Health. As I completed my courses, I received unbelievable support
and lasting friendships from both my professors as well as classmates
I met along the way to complete my degree. Those relationships are
woven throughout my life today, as I still look to my professors for
guidance, recommendations on professional development and how to be
the best physical educator I can be for my students. It is wonderful
to be able to connect with my friends and be able to encourage each
other, both personally and professionally. I am so thankful I chose to
major in Physical Education. I cannot say enough about the professors
who encouraged and challenged me, the friends who have supported me
and a university I am proud to call home. I am grateful to be a Laker;
always have been and always will be."
