PLS 385 Russian and Post-Soviet Politics

Looking for a comparative politics course that challenges your preconceived notions of countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Armenia, and Kazakhstan? Have you already taken PLS 221 Government and Politics of Western Europe and/or PLS 321 European Union and want to learn more about the countries of the former Soviet Union? Have you taken PLS 382 Politics of Post-Communist Europe and want to learn more about the countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia? Take this course to learn more about how communism functioned in the Soviet Union, how and why it collapsed, and how countries transformed their political and economic systems in the post-communist era.
The prerequisites for this course are PLS 103 or junior standing. Fulfills your World Perspectives General Education requirement.
