Spotlights
Amy Bush
I graduated from GVSU in 2013 with a double major in International
Relations and German. I studied abroad for one semester in Germany as
an undergraduate. Currently, I work in Washington, D.C., as a Senior
Program Assistant for the Committee on Human Rights (CHR) at the
National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Our work is
very similar to Amnesty International, except that we only advocate on
behalf of scientists, engineers, and health professionals, and that
our appeals and other advocacy efforts for individuals are typically
private until the case is resolved. I've also just started graduate
school in the evenings at George Mason University. I am pursuing a
Master’s degree in Social Work, and I plan to get more involved with
refugee resettlement and integration. This past year I've been very
involved with Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, and I currently
serve as an editor for their fellowship program and pre-employment
mentor for their refugee assistance program.
