Patrick Miller
Patrick Miller graduated in 1998 with a BS in Political Science and a minor in English. He later earned an MA in Middle East Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School (2008) and an MA in Geography from the University of Oregon (2013).
A military intelligence specialist, Patrick has served in a number of leadership roles in the Army, including a year in Kuwait as Intelligence Planner and Project Manager for the Combined Joint Task Force, Operation Inherent Resolve. He also taught at the United States Military Academy as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering. Patrick is currently Intelligence Operations Division Chief and Senior Project Manager for the Army.
Patrick says: “My studies at GVSU prepared me for my position in academia and laid a good foundation for my specialties in regional and political geography. More importantly, the accessibility to the department and professors post-graduation was very beneficial as I applied to graduate school. Dr. King kindly took the time to write letters of recommendation even though I had graduated almost a decade prior.”
