I see President Haas in many places but nothing is as memorable during move-in. Seeing President Haas hand out ice cream to new students and parents during move-in days. Speaking with them and interacting as a President of the University is such a strong statement for new students and such a symbolic time moving towards the start of Fall Semester. President Haas you are appreciated!!

When I moved in to Kistler as a Freshman in the 2014-2015 school year, it was a really hot day. There was a guy giving out free ice cream, so of course I jumped on the opportunity! Later I found out it was President T. Haas and was so excited that he was welcoming students in a memorable way (and I felt bad I didn't know who he was)! Go T. Haas!

T. Haas is always there to support students. He allowed me to shadow him one day, and I was able to gain a real look into the job of a university president and network with community members of GVSU and the Greater Grand Rapids area. President Haas is also always supporting students in a number of ways from attending various events, opening doors for students, saying hello in passing, and taking selfies upon request.

I appreciate having a University President who takes time and involves his family in events that consists of getting to know the students at Grand Valley!

Thanks T-Haas for always coming to student events and supporting the students of Grand Valley University. Most of my friends who talk to who go to other colleges don't even know their president, and I met you freshman year! Thank you so much for being a positive influence on campus! :)

I had the pleasure of working with President Haas for seven years; he has been a great mentor for me. Early in his tenure, while at a community reception, I saw him stop to chat with a young girl, who was with her parents; she was probably four or five years old. He bent down (from his knees) so that he was face-to-face with her before he began speaking. At that moment, I knew he had a special gift for connecting! Congratulations, Mr. President! "The Power of 10," indeed!

In December 2009, 3 friends and I drove to Alabama for the NCAA Football championships to see GVSU play. That was also the same day as graduation. T. Haas made it to graduation and then sat right behind us at the football game. He was right there with the students cheering us on and it was the most fun I've had at a game in a long time. T. Haas you are an AWESOME addition to GVSU and 10 years later, I'm still so happy you're our school's President.
