To Boldly Go Where... Well, You Know: How Star Trek Influenced Terminology on NASA's Deep Space 1 Mission

NASA conducts many exciting, complex missions throughout the solar system and beyond. Even if they are not as ambitious as the missions depicted in Star Trek, they make up for it by being real. My enthusiasm for space exploration and for Star Trek provided the opportunity to incorporate terminology popularized in that fictional universe into an actual mission.
