Dr. Lin van Nieuwstadt: "Sojourner, the little Mars Rover that could"

Before Spirit and Opportunity, and much smaller than Curiosity, Sojourner paved the way as the first roving vehicle on Mars, landing on the red planet on July 4th, 1997.  What engineering challenges had to be overcome to land this first little rover on our nearest outer planetary neighbor? This presentation will discuss what it took and the steps that went into the process of accomplishing this feat.
