Shedding Light on the Annular and Total Eclipses in 2023 and 2024

Did you know that not one but two solar eclipses will be observable in the continental United States during the next two years?  Through this open-ended hands-on workshop you will learn about the upcoming annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023, and total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024:  What is the difference between a total and annular solar eclipse?  Why are such eclipses visible in only certain parts of the world, and why do they occur so infrequently?  How are solar eclipses different from lunar eclipses?  Teaching resources used in this workshop have been developed by the Heliophysics Education Activation Team (HEAT), who work in partnership with the American Association of Physics Teachers with support from NASA (check out their website at https://aapt.org/Resources/NASA_HEAT.cfm
