Michele Minghetti
Michele Minghetti, International Student earned his MBA as part of Seidman's partnership with ZHAW School of Management and Law in Zurich, Switzerland.
A highlight of the Seidman College of Business MBA program is our international partnership with ZHAW School of Management and Law in Zurich, Switzerland. As a function of that partnership students are able to study at the Seidman College and in Switzerland and earn two MBA degrees. The applied nature of international education and business is highly enriching and sets up individuals to lead in our global economy. One such student who took advantage of this opportunity is Michele Minghetti. He studied at GVSU in Summer- Fall 2021 and intends to return to Grand Rapids to open a European style bakery.
What was it like to be an international student at GVSU?
It was an honor to visit and be a GVSU student. Coming from Switzerland I was not used to the enormous campus, buildings, sports facility, etc. It is impressive.
What did you enjoy the most about your program?
The people, the other students. I made some valuable friends.
What is it like to be part of GVSU and Grand Rapids' community?
It feels great. I would like to get more involved with the community, however.
A piece of advice for other potential or current graduate students?
Be open-minded, and don’t be afraid to approach people. People are more than happy to help you. Make the most of your stay. Join as many organizations as you can. Say yes to everything at the beginning and then afterward you can choose what you like the most and then you just attend those you like the most.
Shown here are pictures featured from Michele's travels since earning his MBA. These include photos of his Dante's Bakery creations and his experiences abroad!
“One of the most crucial skills that I obtained thanks to my MBA was not only identifying problems, but solving them too. As an MBA graduate, I gained a “big picture” understanding how to run an entire company, facing difficulties, and developing strategies to overcome them. Having this ‘big picture’ was vital for me in opening Dante’s Bakery, my own authentic Italian bakery, here in Grand Rapids.“ – Michele Minghetti
