Rain Gardens at GVSU
A rain garden is an area allowing water to pool from rainwater runoff from a roof, street, driveway, etc. allowing for the water to soak into the ground, reducing rainwater runoff. They are designed to mimic natural ways water flows to reduce storm water pollution. Typically only holds water during a rain event.

According to the map on GVSU's website there are 24 rain gardens across campus. Many are near the Niemeyer building and the Kelly Family Sports Center facilities. Below is attached the map of all green infrastructure across campus, see if you can spot them all!
