Description
- Hands only CPR reviews: Why hands only CPR, Check & Call steps, how to deliver chest compressions and does review use of AEDs. We discuss briefly ARC resources and Allison and I have also included some basic medical emergency review steps like knowing where first aid kits & AED’s are for example.
- The first aid portion will likely be very brief but we can include how to recognize and how to respond in general, to a situation. The second paragraphs is from the ARC website.
- RecWell staff will lead a 1-hour class that reviews why hands only CPR is effective, identifying and checking for a medical emergency, how to deliver chest compressions, and use an AED. We will also include a brief overview of recognizing first aid emergencies and how to respond.
- If you are not trained in full CPR, Hands-only CPR is CPR without rescue breaths which is simple to learn and easy to remember, especially outside medical settings. It increases the likelihood of surviving cardiac arrest, when the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs.
