Exams are quickly approaching, which means it’s time to find a place where you can feel comfortable and focused to finish the semester strong. We asked you to vote on Instagram for your favorite places to study on campus. If you’re still searching for that perfect place, look no further than this list of the top four study spots at Grand Valley.
#4. STEELCASE LIBRARY
In fourth place, the Steelcase Library located on the Pew Campus is the perfect place to buckle down. The Steelcase Library is home to its own Knowledge Market, quiet study rooms, and captivating cathedral ceilings. This peaceful haven in a busy downtown area makes this one of the best places to study.
#3. The Arboretum
If you are looking to both study and immerse yourself in nature, look no further than the Arboretum on the Allendale Campus. The sound of birds chirping and leaves blowing in the wind is the perfect study soundtrack, making the arboretum a well-deserved third best place to study at Grand Valley. Note that this study spot is best enjoyed when it’s warm out – if you’re heading to the Arboretum this week, you might want to bundle up!
#2. Kirkhof Center Solarium
Want to soak up the sun while staying inside? Visit the Solarium on the east side of Kirkhof Center. You’ll find tables, stools, and armchairs surrounded by window panes overlooking Zumberge Pond, all ready for you to relax and get some homework done. Right across the hall from Subway, Panda Express, and the Lobby Shop, the Solarium is accessible to anyone wanting to enjoy lunch while studying, making it a great runner-up to our favorite study spot on campus.
#1. Mary Idema Pew Library Third Floor Reading Room
Perhaps the coziest spot in the colder months is the Third Floor Reading Room in the Mary Idema Pew Library. Complete with a fireplace, couches, window seats, and comfortable chairs, this secluded study spot is perfect for anyone who enjoys a calm environment when studying. The third floor reading room has stunning views of the Cook Carillon Tower and its surrounding trees all year round. It’s no surprise this was voted the best study spot at GVSU!
Wherever you choose to study, Grand Valley offers beautiful sights and helpful resources all across campus to help you ace your exams. Enjoy your studying and follow us at @gvsustudentlife on Instagram for more polls!
