Picture yourself shopping for eccentric fashion, vintage kimonos, or traditional crafts on Tokyo's bustling streets. You can do all of this and more while studying abroad and improving your language skills through study abroad!   

In an increasingly global society, proficiency in a foreign language is a highly demanded skill. Take the knowledge, vocab, and grammar you’ve learned in the classroom and use it in real world situations and rapidly improve your proficiency. Expand your appreciation of culture and language by interning, volunteering or studying abroad in Japan.

Keep in Mind

• Once you have selected a program, be sure to meet with your adviser at least three months prior to departing for your program.
• Be sure to explore both GVSU and external options by browsing the Program Suggestions below. Students are not limited to GVSU study abroad programs.
• There are several opportunities to intern and or volunteer while abroad.
• Students are also able to fulfill General Education requirements abroad, including their General Education Issues requirement.
