John Cabot University Engineering

Engineering students can attend John Cabot University (JCU) in Rome, Italy for one or two summer sessions. GVSU students attending JCU will receive a waiver on their $50 application fee. A 10% tuition discount (if attending only one session) off the JCU tuition total. A 20% tuition discount on Summer II tuition if student is staying for BOTH Summer I and II. JCU Engineering Scholarship of $500 for declared engineering majors. Courses are taught in English.

On-campus housing is available at JCU.

  • Completion of at least 6 credits of study abroad also fulfills 1 Global Perspectives requirement (3 credits) and 2 Issues requirements (6 credits; with completion of essay).

Important: GVSU students must be registered for at least 6 credits of coursework during spring/summer semester in order to qualify for financial aid.

Important Notes Regarding Engineering Transfer Equivalencies from JCU (for GVSU 4-credit courses that are 3-credits at JCU)
On student transcript: 
Student will receive 3 credits from GVSU; class grade will not count toward GVSU GPA
For Engineering Secondary Admission: Course will be counted as 4 credits; grade will count toward secondary admission GPA requirements
