About the program - Vienna, Austria For the last ten years, Vienna has been declared “the world’s most livable city.” As the capital of the Habsburg Empire until 1918, it became a multicultural city with a rich artistic life including music, literature, and the visual arts. Our course will introduce all of this by combining historical studies; exposure to art, music, and theater; and experiences of daily life in Vienna. We will explore all the city’s 23 districts, attend musical performances, and visit palaces, churches, museums, outdoor markets, gardens, and more. The course is open to all majors, and we will tailor assignments to link to each student's studies and interests.
Program Highlights:
- Overnight trip to Innsbruck in the Austrian Alps
- Experience the history and daily life of multicultural Vienna
- Live in a vibrant ethnic neighborhood
- World-class performances of symphonies, chamber music, opera, and operetta
- Museums of art and history
- Royal palaces and treasures
- Seminar-style course in which students share their work with the group
This event also appears on the main events calendar tagged as abroad, and studyabroad.
