Are you interested in studying abroad on the Teacher Apprenticeship in Ireland program? Join us for this upcoming VIRTUAL information session with the program director!
About the program - Kerry, Ireland: Students will be placed in classroom meeting their certification and academic needs to observe and assist with instruction. Students will be housed with host families, thereby immersing them in Ireland’s culture. Students will be teaching in the local schools. There will also be several field trips planned for students to experience different parts of Ireland and it’s history, including Dublin, Dingle, the Ring of Kerry tour.

EDI 330/331 Elementary or Secondary Apprenticeship
EDI 320 Culture, Education, and Teaching Abroad
EDI 310 Building and Sustaining Positive Learning Environments
EDT 476 Teaching with Technology (if required during apprenticeship semester)
PCK 495 SWS Integrated Discipline-Based Research in PK-6 Classrooms
(if required during apprenticeship semester)
EDR 320 Language and Literacy: Development, Assessment, and Instruction OR
EDR 321 Content Area Literacy (if required during apprenticeship semester)
Students seeking the Certificate of International Teaching Experience will be required to take on additional credit of EDI 320 – Section 3 to complete their certificate requirements.
*Special education majors contact faculty director for course sequence.
Fullls General Education Global Perspectives requirement.
Fulfills 1 General Education Issues requirement. Reflection required.
Language of instruction: English
*Students who participate will be eligible for a State of Michigan stipend, if offered*
