Students who are majoring in WGS who wish to study abroad should aim to complete their elective requirements during their time abroad. WGS students are not limited to these programs or locations. ACADEMIC ADVICE
GENERAL ADVICE
- Students may take courses that satisfy some requirements in their Women, Gender and Sexuality major or the General Education program. Be sure to begin planning at least six months in advance.
- The Women & GenderStudies B.A. requires third semester proficiency in a foreign lanugage. Consider working on this requirement while studying abroad.
- For pre-approval of a WGS course overseas, request a course description and provide a copy to your WGS advisor to review.
- Courses must have significant feminist content. although they need not necissarily be listed under WGS studies.
RESTRICTIONS
- WGS 300 research methods must be taken at Grand Valley.
- WGS 495 capstone must be taken at Grand Valley.
