PRESENTERS: Marlene Kowalski-Braun (Staff), James Johnson (Undergraduate Student) and Jocelyn Medina (Undergraduate Student)

This sessions explores what it means to be hold privilege and act as an an ally.  Through definition and real life examples of allies in social justice movements, participants will have a chance to discuss key characteristics and pitfalls.  The session will also stretch participants to consider deeper commitments through a paradigm shift that moves people from ally to accomplice.  We will talk about why the shift matters and give participants a chance to build critical thinking and skills around what it means to show up in ways that are both honoring and productive.
