Families, single adults, and children traveling alone have crossed into the United States at its southern border for decades. Media coverage during the past several years has brought migration to the forefront, but often without offering context to the crisis taking place. Join us for a panel discussion regarding social justice and the southern border; the ways that power and privilege have created systems of oppression and impacted push factors for migration will be highlighted.  We will begin by taking a Kahoot to test your knowledge of this topic and then hear from the first-hand experiences of our panelists. Discussion of the reasons people flee from Central America, the crisis on both sides of the southern border, and the realities for asylum seekers will be our focus. We will conclude with a Q and A session and offer actions that each of us can take regarding social justice and the southern border. Panel discussion
