Darius Mathis joined University Communications in 2024 after 18 years as the owner and operator of Red September Films, LLC, where he managed all facets of production and forged strong partnerships with corporate and media clients. A graduate of Grand Valley State University with a degree in film and video production, Darius has over 25 years of experience as a television and live-event camera operator, contributing to high-profile projects for networks including TLC, ESPN+ and MTV, and he possesses extensive expertise in live sports broadcasting. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Darius resides in Grand Rapids with his wife, Denise. They are the parents of three children.
