Dave came to Grand Valley’s University Communications office in 2016 after 32 years as a photojournalist with local ABC affiliate WZZM 13, and serves as a videographer and editor. He also is part of the Grand Valley Sports Network broadcast crew. 

He lives in Rockford with his wife, Tammy, who is a first-grade teacher and will enter her 35th year of teaching in the fall of 2024. They have two sons. Sam, the oldest, is a speech pathologist with the Grand Rapids Public Schools, and his wife, Julie, is a program director for the YMCA in Grand Rapids. Josh, the youngest, is now living in San Francisco California and works in San Bruno writing policy for Google.

Dave enjoys kayaking and biking with Tammy. In September of 2024, he and Tammy will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
