Kendra Stanley-Mills began working for Grand Valley’s University Communications in 2019. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from Western Kentucky University, she started her career as a photojournalist for The Muskegon Chronicle where she was named Michigan Sports Photographer of the Year.

After 13 years of visually covering the stories of the Muskegon lakeshore community for the Chronicle, she started her own photography business where she regularly did editorial work for Michigan BLUE magazine, The Detroit News, The Associated Press and Washington Post while also photographing weddings, seniors and family portraits.

Kendra is happiest when she’s enjoying the outdoors with her husband and two teens.
