Printmaking Professor featured artist on this fall's lecture series in Petoskey
October 20, 2017
Bill Hosterman, Associate Professor of Printmaking and Foundations, will give an informative presentation about the influential experiences that impacted his creative practive. He will discuss nature, travel and language and how these affected his drawing and printmaking work.
“I make artwork about relationships — between land and water, and nature and human progress. Through my personal experiences and research into the habitat, landscape and human history of an area, I create images that explore how nature defines humans and they, in turn, define nature,” he said.
Hosterman was the Crooked Tree Arts Center’s artist-in-residence in May and June of 2017. He will now visit the coastal community once again as a featured speaker in the Coffee at Ten lecture series. The event is free and open to the public. Hosterman's lecture will occur on October 24 at 10 a.m. The Crooked Tree Arts Center is located at 461 E. Mitchell St., in Petoskey.
