Alisha Karabinus researches games and game culture, digital public rhetorics, and professional/technical communication. Her scholarly work has been published in Technical Communication and First Person Scholar, and she is a two-time winner of Best Paper at the Association of Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group for the Design of Communication conference. 

Other work has appeared in Flyway: Journal of Writing and EnvironmentThe PinchNinth Letter, and Passages North. She also co-hosts the Not Your Mama’s Gamer podcast, and with a small editorial team, she is currently at work on a collection of alternative historiographies of game studies.

At GVSU, she teaches professional writing as well as courses in Digital Studies.
