W.U.T. About AI? A Conversation for Writers
Date and Time
Tuesday, November 19, 2024 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM
Location
Kirkhof Center 2215/16
Description
Writing students and faculty alike are grappling with new large language models of artificial intelligences. Should we be using generative AI to help us write? Is AI appropriate in some types of writing, or for some writers, and not for others? Should we tell others if we used AI to write? Do students need to know how to use AI to be successful after graduation, and if so, what do they need to know?
These questions don’t have easy answers, and conversations around them can be challenging. Please join us at a forum where a panel of writing students and faculty will explore the following “W.U.T.” questions together:
- What are writers Wondering about AI?
- How are writers Using AI?
- How are writers Thinking about AI? What opinions do writers have about using AI in our writing?
