Rick Iadonisi's primary focus is teaching first-year writing classes. One of his research interests is American poets writing haiku, while the second is comic books and graphic novels. This latter interest has resulted in an edited collection of essays on comic books and history and articles on such subjects as Art Speigelman's Maus, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, and representation of Asians in Korean War comics.
