About
Hello there! My name is Jacob, and I am here to make your academic journey at GV a smooth ride. Let’s get you across that stage with a diploma in hand!
When I started college, I was told that, “most students change their major before graduation,” and I thought as a Zoology Major that statement would never apply to me. Now, as a graduate of a Bachelor of Arts in professional writing from Michigan State University, I definitely lend to that statistic. Beyond that, I attained a Master’s degree from Walsh College in management, concentrating in strategic leadership. I truly owe my found passion in writing to my Academic Advisor, and that led to my interest in the profession of advising.
In 2019, I started academic advising. With the great recommendations my advisor gave me, I aim to reciprocate that same level of quality advising to you! Meeting with students to map out degrees and future career opportunities that meld into life goals is so rewarding, and I hope to help you through those achievements as well!
In my free time, I am usually getting lost in different universes and lore-heavy stories. Across Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Halo (amongst other universes), I am a geek through and through. Another pastime of mine is exploring Michigan. From the rolling dunes of Silver Lake to the tannin-stained falls of Tahquamenon, I will never turn down the opportunity to road trip around the mitten.
