Scholarships for Incoming Honors First Year Students

Below you will find Honors-specific scholarships for select students who are admitted to GVSU by March 1, qualify for a merit scholarship, and are accepted into the Meijer Honors College. For more information on merit scholarships, see the Financial Aid Scholarships website.

THE AREND D. AND NANCY LUBBERS SCHOLARSHIP

For students who compete at the Presidential Award level (32 ACT and 3.8 high school GPA).  This award can add as much as $2000 per year onto merit-based scholarships, and, as the others, is renewable for up to eight semesters. It is an extraordinary honor to receive this scholarship. 

THE FREDERIK MEIJER FIRST GENERATION HONORS COLLEGE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

This award is a full-tuition scholarship for a select number of extraordinary first year students who are the first in their immediate family to pursue a college degree. The scholarship is renewable up to a maximum of eight semesters. Recipients must stay in good standing in the Meijer Honors College to renew this scholarship.

FELIX V. AND GLADYS A. ZUKAITIS HONORS SCHOLARSHIP

Those who are awarded Presidential or Faculty Scholarships are eligible for a prestigious honors-only scholarship - the Zukaitis Honors Scholarship. This award can add as much as $1,000 onto merit-based scholarships, and is renewable for up to eight semesters. It is a significant honor to receive this scholarship.

THE DONNA K. BROOKS PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP

For select students accepted to or currently enrolled at Grand Valley State University, including first year students, who meet the Presidential Scholarship requirements as set by the University. The scholarship may be renewed provided the recipient makes satisfactory academic progress according to the norms established for Presidential Scholars.

JEFF ("DR. J") CHAMBERLAIN MEIJER HONORS COLLEGE ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students and promote diversity in the Frederik Meijer Honors College.
