Success in Emailing Your Professor

Please consider the following when sending an email to a GVSU professor:

Use your student Gmail account to minimize the likelihood of your email being considered spam.

• List your course and section number in the subject line
• Politely phrase your question(s) or concern(s) using grammatically correct sentences
• Refrain from using IM/text messaging slang
• Sign your first and last name to the end of the message
• Proof read before sending
• Allow a reasonable period of time for a response
