Graduate teacher certification in secondary education is eight classes, a total of 27 credits over a spring/summer, fall, and winter semester. Topics include evidence-based practices for adolescent literacy development, facilitating positive classroom environments, teaching students with disabilities, and technology integration. Courses are paired with robust clinical field experiences. Completion of an additional 15 credits will fulfill the requirements for a Master in Education, Instruction and Curriculum - Secondary Education. An application for the GTC program, available from the College of Education and Community Innovation, is due by November 1. An additional application for admission to the College of Education and Community Innovation must be submitted by January 15. The $30 nonrefundable application fee is waived if the applicant has previously applied to GVSU.

The adventure tourism management minor is a perfect match for a variety of majors. Students must complete a total of 21 credits as outlined below:
Students minoring in adventure tourism management are encouraged to consider including at least one field experience course in their program. Management (MGT), natural resources management (NRM), fitness, skill, and activity (FIT) appropriate adventure-based internships may be included (with hospitality and tourism management internship coordinator approval).

The badge is not a degree or certificate; however, if you choose to continue, completion of this badge and the other three taxation specialization badges will create stackable credentials towards earning a master's degree in taxation.
