All undergraduate students begin their academic career on the Allendale Campus. Students in this major continue their upper division studies on the GVSU Health Campus, near the Grand Rapids Medical Mile. Courses are offered in a hybrid or online format.

The AHS-HPD degree at Grand Valley State University requires 120 credits to graduate. Up to 80 A.S./A.A.S. credits can apply toward earning Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Sciences. The student must earn 40 credits at the senior level institution, of which 30 credits must be completed at Grand Valley. Transferability of credit is done on an individual basis through transcript evaluation. Upon admission to GVSU, students should complete the AHS-HPD application for the program to determine eligibility.
