Grand Valley is committed to the Michigan Assured Admission Pact (MAAP), a collaboration between the state’s public universities to assure admission to students with a 3.0 GPA or higher. MAAP universities believe that having a clear, well-known admissions standard will help students reach their full potential by easing the uncertainty and stress of the college admissions process.

Grand Valley State University will admit all Michigan high school graduates with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who apply for the first fall semester after graduating from high school. In addition, Grand Valley evaluates applicants' criminal history, these requirements remain in place. Students who studied outside the U.S. or in non-English speaking schools will be required to show proof of English proficiency. All applicants must apply by standard deadlines.

Students applying to programs with a secondary admissions process, must meet additional requirements to be admitted to their major program. At GVSU secondary admit programs include nursing, engineering, some business programs and more. To view the complete list of secondary admission programs visit gvsu.edu/acad-index.htm. All 101 undergraduate programs at GVSU will provide you with an education that teaches you to ask "why?" as well as "how?", this separates Grand Valley from schools that only focus on getting you your first job. Find your major.

Our application is free and we encourage you to apply early! To complete an application, submit the application form and have your school send us your official high school transcript. You can also apply through the Common App.
