Alumni Engagement Grant Rubric
Your project should clearly convey how it supports the stated mission of your Alumni Network (if applicable) and/or Alumni Relations' mission of connecting, informing, engaging, and supporting alumni throughout every stage of their life and career.
Review the rubric below before submitting an Alumni Engagement Grant Application.
Project Description
- Is the description of the project clear and concise?
- Are key activities clearly outlined?
- Is methodology effective?
- Is the timeframe for completion of the project realistic?
Audience
- Does the project target an alumni audience?
- If the audience is mixed, do those attending (community members/students/faculty) add value to alumni attendees?
- Are attendance expectations realistic?
Budget
- Does the project have a clear and complete budget? Does the estimated expense align with the project scope?
- Is there institutional buy-in/support for the project?
- What is the per-person cost of the project?
Evaluation Method
- Are goals and outcomes measurable?
- Does the project have a clearly outlined method for measuring success (data collection/attendance tracking etc.)?
- Does the project indicate a strong correlation between the proposed action plan, goals, and evaluation method?
Sustainability
- Is there a long-term goal/objective tied to the project? What plan is in place to ensure alumni engagement (provide connection or support) beyond the life of the grant?
- Does the project outline a plan for future communication & sharing stories of success?
History
- Does the applicant have a proven track record?
- Consider: Past project successes/failures, leadership experience, and lack of history.
Goals
- Are project goals and objectives clearly described?
- Does the project support Alumni Relations' mission of connecting, informing, engaging, and supporting alumni throughout every stage of their life and career?
- Does the project clearly connect alumni with each other and Grand Valley?
- Does the project add value for alumni?
- Connect alumni with students?
- Provide learning/upskilling opportunities? Accomplish network-specific goals?
