Daniel (DJ) Koessler '09, Owner

DJ Koessler is the founder and president of Koessler Strategies, a communications agency partnering with Democratic candidates, causes, and brands.

A veteran of three presidential campaigns, DJ has spent most of his career on the frontlines of politics and media, leading strategies for Climate Power, Pete for America, Stand Up America, and Hillary for America. Notably, DJ led the social media team on Pete Buttigieg's presidential campaign, helping the former mayor make history as the first millennial and the first openly LGBTQ+ American to win a presidential primary contest.

DJ has worked with Fortune 100 brands, advised winning electoral and public affairs campaigns, and held the pen for some of the world's most well-known politicians, entertainers, and athletes.

In addition to working with clients, DJ serves on the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund campaign board and teaches strategic communication at his graduate alma mater, Columbia University. He lives in New York City.
