Shannon Cohen, ’00 & ’11, is an award-winning industry pioneer, innovator, and inspirational leader. Most recently, Shannon birthed “Tough Skin, Soft Heart”, a movement specializing in empowering today’s overextended leader to navigate the emotional, mental, and, physical strain that often accompanies a life committed to being a difference-maker. Shannon is passionate about empowering emerging and existing leaders to be transformative in the communities they serve. She is the author of Tough Skin, Soft Heart: A Leaders Guide to Growing Stronger, Better, and Wiser.
Chriss Lyon, ’91, has been a public safety professional and historian for more than 20 years. She has appeared in an episode of the PBS series, History Detectives, and several documentaries. Her passion in Prohibition-era gangsters, maritime, aviation history, and historical weather has afforded opportunities to write articles for magazines and journals and assist other authors with historical research. She is the author of A Killing in Capone’s Playground: The True Story of the Hunt for the Most Dangerous Man Alive.
David Harris, ’07, provides his expertise to the world as the family values expert. His message is that it takes more than a person’s unique or immediate village and the factors within that village to be successful. Both he and his wife have the same mission and goal, believing that their purpose in life is giving back to their community. Together they started a tutoring business, Simple Math, LLC to provide math tutoring services for K-12 and college students in the Detroit area. He is the author of More Than a Village: A Family Values Recipe for Success.
