Georgina Kranitz, '69
After completing her B.A. in education at Grand Valley State
University, former President of Paradise Valley Community College
Georgina Kranitz, ’69 moved to Arizona. While earning her master’s
degree in education from Arizona State University, Kranitz began her
career in education at Glendale Community College in Glendale Arizona.
Her experience there would allow her to advance to positions at
Maricopa Community College and South Mountain Community College.
Kranitz concluded her education at Nova University where she earned
her Ed.D. before accepting the Dean of Administrative and Student
Services position at Paradise Valley Community College in 1992. She
would later become President of the college.
In her
lifetime, Kranitz belonged to several community and national
organizations such as the Western and National Associations of College
and University Business Officers, American Association of Community
Colleges, American Association of Women Deans and Counselors, and
Western Association of College Auxiliary Services.
She has
been honored with Maricopa College’s Women’s Leadership Distinguished
Achievement Award, Nova Southeastern University Alumni Achievement
Award as well as earning a spot in the top ten women in higher
education in Arizona by the Arizona Women’s Magazine three years in a
row.
She passed away in 2003.
