Elizabeth Amante, '75
After Elizabeth Amante, ’75 graduated from Grand Valley
State University with a B.S. in social relations, arts, and media,
she became the first public relations director at Grand Rapids
Community College (then Grand Rapids Junior College). She also
worked as a reporter, freelance writer, and senior public relations
analyst before establishing a partnership at Amante & Novosad,
Inc. and later Elizabeth Amante Heys Consulting. Her clients
included Re-Deux Furniture and the Pediatric and Adult Asthma
Network of West Michigan as well as others in the Grand Rapids,
Lansing, and Indianapolis regions.
Amante has volunteered and held a board membership with
D.A. Blodgett Services. She has also been a member of the Alliance of
Women Entrepreneurs and been honored with such recognition as
Outstanding Baby Boomer by Grand Rapids Magazine and the Silver Anvil
Award, a national recognition for public relations achievement.
Amante currently works as the development manager for the Grand
Rapids Public Museum. She and husband, Robert Heys live in Ada.
