Gregory Grochoski, '68
Retired Chief Innovations Officer of Amway Corporation, Gregory
Grochoski, ‘68 is the current Chief Science and Development Officer
for IdeaSphere Inc. and the subsidiary Twinlab. He started his career
with Amway in 1962 as a junior lab technician while he was still in
high school. During his career there, Grochoski advanced to full-time
positions as a lab technician, director, vice president, and finally
senior Vice President of research and development.
In his
tenure, Grochoski initiated several programs including the Toxicology
Program, Research Microbiology Program, R&D College Intern
Program, College Recruiting Program, and nutrition research. These
programs led to tens of thousands of individual product launches
world-wide and increased Amway’s business fivefold.
Grochoski has been active with the Soap and Detergent Association as
an executive committee member, chairman of the board, vice chairman,
and division chairman; the Consumer Specialty Products Association on
the Board of Directors, chairman of the board, and executive finance
committee member; and the Alliance for Consumer Education’s board of
trustees. He is also credited with several patents, papers, and
presentations concerning health, air quality, and supplements.
After retiring in 2002 after 40 years with Amway, he continues
to identify emerging market and technology opportunities for
IdeaSphere and Twinlab.
