1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
Following graduation jobs in my education were next to nil. I subbed for a few districts before landing a job at Thornapple Kellogg as a paraprofessional. When the district expanded and built a new elementary to house the 4th and 5th-grade students the position of librarian became available. Due to my working in the public library, which is housed in the High School, I was recommended to be the librarian at the elementary. That building opened in 1988 and I have been here ever since. It may not be a traditional classroom but I meet ALL of the students that come through our doors. Retirement is about 2 years away!

2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
Traveling with the football and basketball teams (as a cheerleader) to play in tournaments. Football went to Elon, North Carolina and basketball went to Kansas City.

3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
To continue moving forward, don't look back. You can do as much or as little as you feel necessary to make it and be proud.

4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand Valley experience.
Fun, memorable, and fulfilling

5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
To instill in the youth the importance of reading. It is a lifelong skill and is used daily. Never give up on yourself.
