1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
My journey since graduating has always been a continuous learning process. As a Medical Informatics Intern, I've learned so much from the Health Informatics and Bioinformatics program studies. I've also began volunteering with a small organization that promotes opportunities for young girls in technology and aims to decrease gender/diversity gaps in tech.

2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
One of my favorite memories at GV was being a Graduate Assistant. This opportunity allowed me to work closely with faculty professors and receive mentorship in both my research and professional journey.

3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
To strive, and not yield. Since I was young, my father always taught me "to strive and not to yieldā€¯ no matter the circumstance. My unique life experiences did not deter me from achieving my academic goals. Rather, it pushed me to strive and not give up, in order to be where I am today. Thanks Dad!

4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand Valley experience.
Eye-opening, Professional, Rewarding!

5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
Data reveals that there is a great need when it comes to addressing the health disparities that exists among maternal and infant health in the U.S. My presence in the health informatics field would include contributing to further research of information and using my voice to advocate for black women in healthcare. In addition, I believe that representation in STEM serves a great purpose. I would like others to see that achieving a professional science master's degree is achievable for young women of color exploring the vast field of technology.
