60th Anniversary Celebration & Boat Christening

On Saturday, September 7 more than 170 alumni, current and former coaches and administrators, families, and friends of the Laker Navy gathered to celebrate 60 years of rowing at GVSU and christen three new boats: The John "Coach B" Bancheri 8+, the Laker Legacy 8+, and the John '04 and Jenny '05 Palk 4+.

As we celebrate 60 years of rowing at GVSU, we are also looking to the future and the resources necessary to continue a legacy of success. This year, GVSU Rowing seeks to raise $60,000 in gifts and commitments to propel the program into the next decade.

Rowing Club Fund

Goal: $30,000 in Gifts

The Rowing Club Fund supports near-term needs that help the team remain competitive and ensure a high-quality athlete experience, including regatta travel and equipment.

Rowing Alumni Endowment

Goal: $30,000 in Gifts and Pledges

The Rowing Alumni Endowment provides a dedicated, sustainable funding source that helps keep athlete dues reasonable while providing resources for a high-quality coaching staff and program operations.
