Grand Valley State University Venue
Grand Valley State University is once again a ArtPrize Venue. ArtPrize is an open art contest based in Grand Rapids Michigan, the world's largest ArtPrize.
Grand Valley State University has a long tradition of supporting the arts. The university’s permanent collection now numbers over 13,000 works of art, collected in support of its educational mission. The majority of these works are displayed throughout the university’s grounds and facilities to promote diversity and cultural understanding. The collection has also been established to enrich the lives of students, faculty, staff and the community. The collection features works in a wide range of media by faculty, students and GVSU alumni. Additionally, many of Michigan’s finest visual artists and numerous works by renowned national and international artists works are included in the collection. The collection can be viewed online at www.gvsu.edu/artgallery and "Art at GVSU" is available in the iTunes App store and in the Google Play Store.

GVSU INTERNATIONAL CERAMICS WORKSHOP
Three-Dimensional, 2016
Artists: Bomin Park, Dahee Moon, Hyejun Oh, Hyerin Lee, Hyojin Shin, Jiwoo Yoon, Kue Hyune Moon, Seiyoung Park, Seo-Hyun Baek, Seulah Song, Taeseo Park, Yeong Eun Choi, and Zin Hyuk Yim
Artists Jun-Young Jung, Jin-Kyoung Kim, Wan-Soo Kim, Eun-Kyo Oh, and Kyu-Ri Pyon have traveled to Grand Valley State University to team create artworks with Hoon Lee, Sean Larson, Andrea Burns, and SEOULTECH and Grand Valley students during an intensive 3-week Ceramics Workshop in July of 2016. The creations of this project will be exhibited at Grand Valley's L.V. Eberhard Center during ArtPrize Eight and exhibited in coordination with the SEOULTECH & Grand Valley faculty exhibition on the Allendale Campus during GVSU's Fall Arts Celebration.

Exhibition “Young Flint Speaks” at GVSU
August 12 - October 30, 2016, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Young Flint Speaks is an exhibition of artwork created by middle school students from Flint, Michigan. The pieces were created in response to the following prompt: "How has the detection of lead in the public water system impacted your life?"

Performances by the Laker Marching Band and the GVSU Dance Co. Join the Grand Valley State University at the L.V. Eberhard Center on the Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus and march with the band to Rosa Parks Circle for more music, dance and an evening of community programs to celebrate the opening night of ArtPrize.
