Developing a Coaching Structure

Coaching Structure Guidebook

According to E Aguilar, author of The Art of Coaching, “You can’t have a coaching culture without a structure.” START’s compelling why for establishing a coaching structure is: All school teams and staff supporting students with ASD need to have equitable access to and benefit of high-quality coaching support for the implementation of Evidence-Based Practices, regardless of the school, district, or ISD in which they work.

This guidebook is designed to support the development and strengthening of coaching structures in ISDs and districts within each Regional Collaborative Network (RCN). The information included in this guidebook was generated through numerous interviews with ISDs across RCNs, as well as resources and information from coaches and coach leaders shared with START.

A big thank you to the coach leaders who previously shared their stories and resources for this guidebook. Please note that details, structures, and other information were representative of the time and may have changed within these ISDs and Districts since this guidebook was initially released
