Family Matters Resources and Information

The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Office of Special Education (OSE) is requesting your help in sharing Family Matters resources with the families you serve who have children with disabilities.
MDE OSE developed Family Matters in 2017 to improve access to resources for families with children who receive special education programs and services. MDE OSE wants to continue to proactively contact these families regarding the resources.
I encourage you to visit the Family Matters web page at michigan.gov/specialeducation-familymatters. Please review the fact sheets on various special education topics and the additional resources for parents and share them with your stakeholders.
New fact sheets are added on an ongoing basis, so the web page is updated regularly. You can sign up at the Family Matters web page to receive notification when new information is available, including new fact sheets and other updates.
I hope you can use this information to further support families of
children receiving special education services. Thank you for your
