1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
My journey since graduation has been very unexpected but one, I
would not change. I graduated with a Marketing degree and have not
worked in marketing since graduation, I have primarily been involved
in the transportation industry in some form or fashion. What I can say
is Grand Valley provided me with the tools needed to succeed given the
various accredited courses that aligned with my major. Although I have
not directly used a ton from the marketing courses, I have been able
to apply many of the other courses like business management, business
negotiation, and much more. This has been very helpful in the diverse
nature of business and the many unexpected things that come about once
you jump into your career.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
My favorite memory at Grand Valley would have to be the many
memorable friendships and relationships I was able to build given the
nature of the welcoming environment set forth by the university.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
When you are in a challenging situation, do not avoid it or go
around it. Face it head-on. If you avoid it the likelihood of the same
situation coming about again is a high probability. Additionally, the
more you continue to shy away from it, put it off, and/or avoid it the
more this challenge will undermine your ability to grow.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Memorable, Instrumental, and Pride
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I would like to influence others, allow them to learn from my
mistakes, and grow to be the best business professional they can be.
Since graduation, I have really been focused on not only becoming the
best business professional I can be but also practicing Servant
Leadership to the best of my abilities in order to have a bigger impact.
