1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
After excellent preparation at GVSC, I relocated to Pennsylvania
and soon became a partner in a regional CPA firm. I eventually became
senior vice president of a community bank, one of my CPA firm's top
clients. We sold the bank in 2006. I committed to charity endeavors
such as building churches in India and providing income tax services
to disabled individuals, mostly children.
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
As I was a military veteran and married when I entered GVSC, I
was driven to excel in my education. The professors were excellent and
I loved walking the then “rough” campus, including ropes to assist on
the sidewalks in the winter. I’ll never forget many of us students
waiting to put our deck of cards in the only computer on campus. Often
it was a Sunday afternoon and there was always a waiting line.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
All things worth having are worth struggling to acquire!
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Outstanding, Economical, and Prepared
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I have been able to succeed in both life and vocation. Hopefully,
I have been a meaningful person in my endeavors. I’ve been blessed to
have been part of successful businesses and wonderful charities and
civic organizations. The photo is me holding a child at a mission in
India where I often travel.
