1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
Graduating during a pandemic was definitely not planned! This
made graduation, finding a job, and navigating the post-college world
a little odd! I was very lucky to have been accepted into Teach for
America in March of 2020, right at the beginning of the pandemic.
Since then I have moved to Detroit and began teaching 3rd grade
through the program!
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
My favorite memory from Grand Valley would have to be the shows I
did with my improv team Subject to Change. I can not express how
amazing it was to find a group of like-minded, hilarious, and amazing friends!
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
I feel as though the best advice I received post-college is that
you do not need to have it all figured out! I still don't know what I
want to do with my life and don't know where I will end up. I think my
goals will change, and as long as you are happy with what you are
doing at the moment, then that is okay! You don't need to be doing
some grand life-changing work to feel fulfilled and be happy.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Memorable, connected, and busy!
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
I think that connecting with others and being a genuine person is
how you can greater make an impact. I'm not sure what I want to do
exactly if it's teaching, law, or a different field, but wherever I do
find myself I want to feel fulfilled in the work and surround myself
with those who support me, no matter how small the cause.
