1. Tell us about your journey since graduation.
After graduating with a major in marketing and a minor in digital
studies, I realized that my passion lies in understanding user
behavior and creating better digital experiences. This led me to
explore UX design, where I could apply my marketing background while
diving deeper into user-centered designs. To advance my skills and
knowledge, I decided to pursue a master’s degree focusing on UX Design
at the University of Michigan. This has helped me refine my design
thinking and technical abilities. Thanks to my digital studies minor,
I was able to narrow down my interests, discover this career path, and
continue my educational journey!
2. Share a favorite Grand Valley memory.
One of my favorite memories is going to a career fair! Chatting
with various employers was a great experience and very informative.
3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
The best piece of advice I ever received was to always stay
curious and never stop learning. This mindset guided me through my
shift from marketing to UX design and continues to push me to explore
new tools, methods, and perspectives in the world of design.
4. List three words you would use to describe your Grand
Valley experience.
Welcoming, engaging and collaborative
5. What difference would you like to make in the world?
Owning the research and design of digital experiences that are
both visually appealing and easy to use is a passion of mine. It is
not only a task I enjoy, but also one that has the potential to affect
the lives of many users positively. Inclusion and equity go beyond
empathizing with disparity; they enable amplified creativity and
unique innovation. In my career, I hope to advance accessibility and
inclusivity in technology to expand opportunities and success for
historically excluded populations that face informational barriers.
