Networking
Networking is about making connections and gaining information. It’s also a great way to personally and professionally embed yourself into a community.

Employers are often on campus to attend events and share information with students. These are excellent networking opportunities with our many employer partners.
An informational interview is simply a discussion with a professional who works in a role/organization/industry of interest to you. It's a great way to obtain information, establish connections and expand your network, and find potential opportunities.
WHAT TO DO BEFORE AND AFTER A PROFESSIONAL INTERACTION
BEFORE
Identify your own goals. What are you hoping to learn during this conversation? Is there information you are seeking or do you have a request for action?
AFTER
Follow-up is KEY! Make a follow-up plan, and use it. This could include calling, emailing, connecting on LinkedIn, or even scheduling another time to meet.
