What is a Career Explorer?

GVSU Career Center defines a Career Explorer as a student with an undeclared major who is looking to connect with employers from various industries to help determine a career path of interest.  As part of your Handshake Fair Registration, you will be asked if the recruiters in attendance at the fair are willing to talk with Career Explorers. 

Why do you ask if our recruiters will talk with Career Explorers?

• The GVSU Career Center encourages ALL students to attend the Career Fair - especially those that are curious to learn more about career options and opportunities. 
• While Career Explorers may not be ready to be hired at the fair, they are the BEST way to build your talent pipeline.  Talking to a Career Explorer today means they will come back when they are ready for an internship or full-time opportunity.
